International Women’s Day 2017 was celebrated in Security Printing and Minting Corporation of India Ltd. at the Corporate Office, New Delhi on 08.03.2017. The function was attended by all the Women Employees of SPMCIL Corporate Office. The function was chaired by Ms. Renu Bhasin, OSD to CMD and PRO, SPMCIL. The function was started with the lighting of the lamp. The participants had discussed the role of the women in the society in general and the contribution being made by the women employees in SPMCIL in particular. The participants had appreciated the proactive approach of the SPMCIL Management towards welfare of the women employees of SPMCIL. Function ended with the vote of thanks to the Chair.

Bank Note Press, Dewas is a unit of Security Printing and Minting Corporation of India Ltd. and engaged in printing of Bank Notes and manufacturing of various types of Security Inks used in printing of Bank Notes. BNP Dewas has been awarded with a prestigious “National Safety Award” on 16.09.2016 at Siri Fort Auditorium New Delhi as “ Runner Up” based on lowest average frequency rate, under the category of “ Manufacture of Paper and Paper Products & publishing printing & reproduction of record media”. This award is was presented to Sh. M.C.Bylappa, General Manager , BNP Dewas by Sh. Bandaru Dattatreya , Hon’ble Minister of State ( Independent charge) for Labour and Employment, Govt. of India. This award was based on lowest average frequency lowest average frequency rate for the Performance year 2014. It is also worth mentioning here that BNP Dewas is achieving Safety Awards since 1996 as a Winner/Runner up base on lowest average frequency rate or accident free year.

IGM HYDERABAD OBTAINS LICENSE FOR THE USE OF STANDARD MARK FROM BUREAU OF INDIA STANDARDS

India Government Mint Hyderabad (a unit of SPMCIL) is one of the four Mints to discharge the sovereign function of Government of India in manufacturing of refining and assaying of Silver IGM Hyderabad has obtained a License to use the Standard Mark for Gold and Gold Alloys , Jewellary/artifacts and marking for Gold Coins of fineness up to 999 with BIS credentials.

MoU for 1st Indian Gold Standard signed by IGM Mumbai , BARC and CSIR

A historical agreement was reached between India Government Mint (IGM), Mumbai (A unit of SPMCIL), Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC), Mumbai and CSIR – National Physical Laboratory (NPL), New Delhi to develop the first Indian gold standard, the Bharatiya Nirdeshak Dravua (BND 4201).Under this agreement, IGM – Mumbai, which is a pioneer in gold melting, refining and assaying is selected as the producer of the gold standard with significant research and development inputs from BARC and CSIR NPL. Gold reference standard is indispensable in gold and jewellery hall marking and assumes greater importance in the Gold Monetization Scheme of Government of India, Gold reference material being developed under the agreement will be useful for Collection and Purity (Testing Centres (CPTC) to certify the purity of the gold deposits under the Gold Monetization Scheme. This development thus will be beneficial to the consumers and public at large to ensure purity of gold. Currently the gold reference material is important. Development of this reference material indigenously will add to the ‘ Make in India’ campaign of Government of India and shall save foreign exchange as well as minimize dependency on foreign countries. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on October 28, 2016 at IGM-Mumbai. Shri R Haripanth, General Manager, IGM, Mumbai Dr. B.N. Jagatap, Director, Chemistry Group. BARC and Dr. R. Montala, Head, Environmental and Biomedical Metrology Division, NPL signed the MoU on behalf of their respective institutions in august presence of Shri Ajai Kumar Srivastav, Director (Technical), SPMCIL.
